Big Sur is a world where contrasting elements powerfully converge providing endless opportunities to discover and rediscover “How beautiful it is”. Ocean tides shaping the rocky western edge of the Santa Lucia range, emerald pools, towering canyons, ancient redwoods, grand vistas, semi-desert terrain and coastal fog, all inviting exploration.

What people say about Big Sur

…comparisons are vain. Big Sur has a climate of its own and a character all its own. It is a region where extremes meet, a region where one is always conscious of weather, of space, of grandeur, and of eloquent silence.

I thought Big Sur would be a great break after the tour. You'd walk down this rickety ladder to this not-very-pretty beach scene; crashing waves, moss-covered rocks, weird ocean life. It was scary.
